There are lot of technologies are in the market for server side web development.

ASP.NET and MSSQL ,Ruby, e.g. Ruby on Rails, PHP and MySQL, Python, e.g. Django (web framework) CGI and/or Perl, Java, e.g. J2EE or WebObjects, Smalltalk e.g. Seaside, ColdFusion, Lotus Domino.

Which one you recommend for heavy load site?

ASP.NET is good for All type (Small as well as Enterprise) web application.
Python is used in SEACH Engine Applications Mostly.
