Gateway Clock time not working...?

Every time I turn off my Gateway computer - I have to reset the time. The internal battery (or whatever) must not be working? How can I get the clock to keep the correct time.
Yes, the computer is always left plugged into a power source.
Thanks in advance
Silly me I thought the main battery for the laptop would be responsible for this. So, I guess I'll just turn it right over and see if I can find where to replace battery.
Thanks tons.
I'll be back if that isn't it, lol!
hehehe

I am afraid it is going to be a bit more involved! In desktop computers ( I mean towers or desktops) the MoBO battery is usually a CR203/5 etc and that costs only £2or3 and is easily replaced!
In case of a laptop it is possible to replace the batttert( It is called C-MOS battery) and due to the compact design it might be a more complicated task!I suggest you entrust it to a qualified repair person!
