FEASIBILITY STUDY in software development life cycle is a process that determines whether the solution under analysis is achievable, given the organization's resources and constraints.

Within a feasibility study, seven areas must be reviewed, including those of a Needs Analysis, Economics, Technical, Schedule, Organizational, Cultural, and Legal.

The feasibility study is basically the test of the proposed system in the light of its workability, meeting user’s requirements, effective use of resources and .of course, the cost effectiveness. The main goal of feasibility study is not to solve the problem but to achieve the scope. In the process of feasibility study, the cost and benefits are estimated with greater accuracy.

Building a software takes more than just simple coding job nowadays. There are so many stages that the developer has to go through, just to make sure a software is built according to the need of the public or to the intended end-users. Software are now more than just simple encoding and updating of information, it is a complex process without which business may crumble.

SDLC carefully lays out the necessary stages in order to create a perfect software. Developers realized that building a software is not all about answering the need but exceeding them. SDLC is now observed by different software engineers each of them following a specific model that works well with their talent and available resources. Each model suggests different stages in software development. The model suggests different approach in building software. Each model will suggest different sources and tools to build a program.

Every model or any software created that was built using an SDLC model has to plan before anything else. Project planning, feasibility study is very important aspect of building a software. It will answer the question of why would a developer build a software. Without planning, the software may not be able to perform or function as planned and feasibility study makes sure the program created is needed and will be appealing to the intended users.

Project planning and feasibility studies is a stage where developers, project managers and research department will be working together. Developers will be the group who will be creating the software, project managers are the ones who makes sure the program will be done in time and the research department will show why an idea of a software will work.

Feasibility study - Part of the systems development life cycle which aims to determine whether it is sensible to develop some system. The most popular model of feasibility study is "TELOS", standing for Technical, Economic, Legal, Operational, and Schedule.

Technical Feasibility: does the technology exist to implement the proposed system? Is it a practical proposition?

Economic Feasibility: is the system cost-effective? Do benefits outweigh costs?

Legal Feasibility: is there any conflict between the proposed system and legal requirements, e.g. the Data Protection Act?

Operational Feasibility: are the current work practices and procedures adequate to support the new system?

Schedule Feasibility: can the system be developed in time?

feasibility study is a process by which we determine weather the system is proceed or cancel ,this process is done after priliminary investigation.
there are three types of feasibility study-
1.Technical feasibility-In which we determine there are enough technology that is required to proposed system.
2.operational feasibility-In operational the performance of the system is determine. the working capacity of the system is determine.
3.economic feasibility-In economic feasibility cost and benefit analysis is done

nado Said..

Feasibility study is the process which determines whether the proposed system is applicable to the current context. It is mainly about how the proposed system should proceed with all the feasible requirements taken into consideration.
1.schedule feasibility- The amount of time within which the project can be completed
2.Economic feasibility-The cost associated with the project.
3.Technology feasibility-The availability of required hardware and software for the development
4.operational Feasibility- The operation of system in the present environment and long run operation of system

to estimate real structure and design feasibility study is done.
by this we can accomodate every activity and behaviour of a system software and analyze every infortion related to this software, processing ,cost, life time etc. of system.................

Subham Biswas Said..

A feasibility study is a process that defines exactly what a project is and what strategic issues need to be considered to assess its feasibility, or likelihood of succeeding.Feasibility studies aim to objectively and rationally uncover the strengths and weaknesses of an existing business or proposed venture, opportunities and threats as presented by the environment, the resources required to carry through, and ultimately the prospects for success.[1][2] In its simplest terms, the two criteria to judge feasibility are cost required and value to be attained.[3] As such, a well-designed feasibility study should provide a historical background of the business or project, description of the product or service, accounting statements, details of the operations and management, marketing research and policies, financial data, legal requirements and tax obligations.[1] Generally, feasibility studies precede technical development and project implementation.

feasibility steady is main part of software engineering and every thing require a model to perform a specifice task and initial we make a model according this model we
perform the specific task and then after we check using varification and validation method

Juliana Silva Tsheeli Said..

If the proposal is accepted by the management then the next phase is to examine the feasibility of the system. In this phase the software analysts and strategy makers establish a descriptive view of the intended project and determine its goals & objectives. If the project is to proceed, the feasibility study will produce a project plan and budget estimates for the future stages of development. The main goal of feasibility study is not to solve the problem but to achieve the scope. In the process of feasibility study, the cost and benefits are estimated with greater accuracy to find the Return on Investment

Narewa Said..

The feasibility study is an analysis of a proposed with emphasis on the attainable income, probable expenses, and most advantageous use and design.
That's a simple definition of Feasibility study in Software engineering..... I think u will understand..
