Norton software loads a bunch of crap that you not need?

I downloaded AVG security and my PC is so much faster after I got rid of Nortons software. I also seen that over 130,000,000 people have also DL it so I hope it's gonna be as good. I got it from download.com. I thought I'd give it a try because my subscription ran out and don't wanna pay $59 or $69 bucks quite yet. I got AVG because it's a free home edition. So what do you guys think?
I just wanna say thanks guys Anwsers is the best!
