Why is my PC running slow after Fios installation?
I just switched to Fios from Road Runner and my wireless connection speed is non-existent.
My PC could not connect to the internet because it had third party software running on it which disabled the wireless network adapter. Easy fix, disabled the program in msconfig and enabled the network adapter. Beautiful. Now my PC is up and running, but it is unbelievably slow, like when I had dial up 10 years ago.

I?m running XP
I have no viruses
No spyware
96% free disk space on my C drive
802.11g bandwidth
Defrag when needed

My PC is in very good health. I ran Verizon?s Speed Optimizer and it didn?t help. I will contact Verizon about this but before I do anyone have any ideas why this is happening?
My other PC that is connected by hardwire does not have this problem. I know that wireless PCs will always run a little slower but this is nuts. I tried downloading a program and it took 2 hrs 06 minutes. The same program on the hardwire PC took less than 1 minute. Any info would be appreciated!

The problem with fiber optics is that it has high quality, but lacks in speed, the reason for the slowness is that the higher quality takes longer to download, this might not be the exact problem, but with the information you have provided its all I can give.
