How to make a copy of an original DVD with my MacBook?

I just got a mac and the only thing I miss about my old PC is DVD shrink. Is there an easy and safe software like DVD shrink for mac that I can download for free or something so that I can make copies of original DVD's? Can you explain me how to use it? I barely burn DVDs but still I'd like to do it once in a while. Please help!!!
