A robot is a mechanical device that helps humans perform a task. Humans have manual control over robots. Sometimes programs are written on a computer and then downloaded into the robot. Programs allow robots to perform the same task over and over again. Often robots are needed for dangerous tasks such as space exploration, nuclear power plant and much more. Today many robots have replaced factory workers because robots can work longer and faster which makes them more efficient than humans.
