Software as a service (SaaS, typically pronounced [sæs]) is a model of software deployment over the internet. With SaaS, a provider licenses an application to customers for use as a service on demand, either through a time subscription or a “pay-as-you-go” model. Also known as “software on demand,” the SaaS model allows vendors to develop, host and operate software for customer use. Rather than purchase the hardware and software to run an application, customers need only a computer or a server to download the application and internet access to run the software. The software can be licensed for a single user or for a group of users.

The noun product is defined as a "thing produced by labor or effort"[1] or the "result of an act or a process", and stems from the verb produce, from the Latin produce(re) '(to) lead or bring forth'. Since 1575, the word "product" has referred to anything produced.[3] Since 1695, the word has referred to "thing or things produced".
