I think to PHP is better.bcoz now .net will be compitition is ruby language.and PHP is opensource language.but will be future is PHP is best programming languagane.Ranking of PHP are first Newyork and After second rank Ahmedabd.
To do simple applications PHP/MySQL seems to be better but with larger more complex stuff ASP.NET seems good.
